Big Chief, Corey and I got up late yesterday and found a little dive to eat. They had an amazing BBQ Cheeseburger. We drove down the beach looking for surf. It didn't seem good anywhere. We got all the way down to Sebastian Inlet without seeing anything. We ended up back at the same spot that we surfed yesterday and surfed for a few hours. Brad, Brennan, Julian, and Shane showed up a little while later to join us. When we got out we found that someone had stolen Shane's mom's camera bag. It had several camera lenses and her car keys in it. A cop let us try to slim jim it open, but that wasn't happening, so we had to wait for Triple A. We headed back to the hotel to get cleaned up before dinner. Soon after we got there Julian and Bradley showed up with Julian's new board. He went by The Longboard House and got a beautiful CJ Nelson model longboard.
Some local guy told us about this place to get good wings called Franky's Wings & Things. Great hot wings, weird blue cheese, and sweet tea that wasn't very sweet. When we got back we brought the boards up to the room, watched some of Another State of Mind, and then hit the bed.
Brennan just got put out of the contest, so we are going to go pick him up and go surf somewhere.

Florida Trip
Great so far. We left Wilmington leisurely yesterday around 10:30am. We loaded an enclosed trailer with the short boards and gear, put 4 longboards on top of the Suburban, got fuel and lunch and then hit the road. I drove the entire time. We stopped at the Jacksonville Beach Pier around 6:30pm for a quick surf. It was small but fun and Bradley almost got in a fight with a drunk guy. Then we packed up to head to Melbourne. We stopped at a Golden Corral for dinner and made it to the hotel around 1am.
This morning we got up late, around 11am, and headed to the beach. First we surfed at Canova Park. It had reef on the bottom so it was sketchy. It was hard to get out with rocky reef sticking up everywhere. Getting out was even harder. We got out after almost 2 hours and drove to the contest site at the Cocoa Beach Pier. The we headed south to the other end of Melbourne and surfed the boardwalk. The bottom their was much better. The waves were big and crumbling. Lots of fun. We got out around dark. Brennan, Bradley, Shane, and Julian went to a pizza place and Corey, Big Chief and I just hung around the truck. We slide over to The Longboard House. It was amazing. TONS of surfboards. They had a one-of-a-kind Rennie Yater Spoon with abalone inlay for $20,000. We talked to Randy Howell, who used to run Hot Wax Surf Shop and now works there, for a few minutes and I bought a new hat. We headed back to the hotel, dropped everyone else off and Big Chief and I drove around looking for a dinner spot. We ended up at a Denny's.
Now we're back at the hotel winding down. More surf tomorrow.
